There are upcoming changes to US Postal Service rates, and Presort Inc. is on top of it.
New Postage Rates for 2020
Each autumn, the US Postal Service releases its planned changes to postage rates for the coming year. This is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This measures the average change over time in the prices paid by consumers. Although there are no planned changes for first class letters, there are significant changes in rates for other USPS products.
In August 2019, for the first time in a long time, the USPS reported a decline in overall parcel shipping volume. This 3.2% decline can be attributed to other parcel shippers using their own capacity instead of the USPS. To make up for this loss of revenue, the USPS has concentrated rate increases on parcels and bulk shipping.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will implement new postage rates for most mailing and shipping products on Sunday, January 26, 2020.
